Cooperation
Cooperation with Univ. Prof. Dr. Alexander Somek
As a specialist in constitutional law and a fully qualified mediator Dr. Somek supplements our work in the areas of:
- Constitutional Law
the importance of which grows daily especially with regard to the judgements on fundamental and human rights as well as the relationship between national rights in comparison to those of the European Union. - Legal Theory
Through the placement in context of judicial methods and the sober appraisal of their performance we are led to a deeper understanding of the legal problems, clarity in judicial controversies and thus the increasing quality of legal expertise. - Mediation
as an alternative to legal advice or arbitration, or as a rational way of proceeding in the prevention or resolution of conflicts.
Dr. Alexander Somek was Professor of Constitutional Law and Philosophy of Law at the University of Vienna before moving to the University of Iowa (Charles E. Floete Chair in Law). With regard to his work as a mediator, he and his wife Sabine are following a system oriented approach which has been developed on the basis of the theory from Niklas Luhmann.
A copy of his C.V. along with a complete list of publications and projects can be found at www.somek.org.
